Bluegrass Legend Alice Gerrard Album Release Show - September 22

Free Dirt Records, the Hamlin Street Diner, the Folklore Society of Greater Washington and Bluegrass Country Radio are thrilled to present bluegrass legend Alice Gerrard live in concert (with special guests) in Washington, DC on September 22! Join us in Northwest, DC at Pierce Hall at All Souls Unitarian Church to celebrate the newly unearthed Hazel Dickens & Alice Gerrard recordings Sing Me Back Home: The DC Tapes, 1965-1969.

How better to celebrate the release of these never-before-heard tapes than to return to the very space where, in 1965, the duo recorded their debut album for Folkways, Who's That Knocking? And Other Bluegrass Music. Alice Gerrard will be joined by the next generation of traditional musicians including Joseph Dejarnette, who co-produced the new album, as well as acclaimed old-time duo Jake Blount & Tatiana Hargreaves who will kick off the evening with an opening set. Other special guests include: Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer, Ginny Hawker & Tracy Schwarz, Arnold Lee Dickens, Kay Justice, Chris Brashear.
