Mat & Rachel Wilson take you on a R&B soaked journey through the backroads of Missouri with brief stops in Spain and Trinidad. Featuring baritone saxophone from Kellie Everett (the Hooten Hallers) and Mat’s season fingerpicking styles on a resonator, the music is a celebration of jump blues and proto-R&B with a focus on male\female vocal pairings. Taking their name from the legend of Jesse James, these original songs celebrate a life of roots music inspired by real stories of history, including Mat’s grandfather’s adventures in WWII (“Trinidad” and “My Gal Friday”).
